Italy Travel Diary II

30 Januari 2009 – of Murano Island and Vivaldi concert..

pagi2 we went to murano island together with nana n zaid. it is famous for it glass, murano glass.. seriously, except for dead, the island was quite dead..xramai orang pun…kami pergi kilang murano glass tgk org buat… beli sedikit barang2… then, jalan2 around the island… then berpecah ngan zaid n nana coz they hvnt abis jalan2 kat venice lg… kami pun pg masuk glass museum… then we all bertolak ke cemetery yg lawa. after dat kami pulang ke venice balik, n jalan2 kat park dia yg hijau n best!

sebab hari ni adalah hari terakhir kami kat sini, so kamipun abiskan dgn menikmati suasana venice yg tenang sambil berjalan pulang ke apartment. kami juga dgn kelam kabutnya pun membeli some souvernir utk kenang2an..lepas rehat dan makan2, kami pun berjalan lagi kat peberet place: st. mark square. masuk keluar lorong2 yg sempit.. then, kami pun pegi tengok consert vivaldi – the four seasons. best.

31 Januari 2009 – to Florence!

bangun awal2 pagi, pukul 6 kot… bersiap2 nak pegi ke Stazione Santa Lucia coz train kami lbey kurg pukul 8.30. sampai kat Florence’s Santa Maria Novella dekat2 pukul 11. Cari2 hostel, dan terus check in. tapi bilik kami tak kemas lagi, so we just letak our barang2 there, n jalan ke Santa Maria Novella balik coz nak beli ticket train ke Pisa n ke Rome. kat situ, kami terjumpa ngan geng2 ila balik. dapat tahu dari diorg, hostel diorg located at the same street as we r. lepas tu,diorg pun pegi mcari hostel diorg dan kami pun pegi mengisi perut yg kosong di mcD… walaupun sangat mahal berbanding harga di tpt2 lain, sebab lapar n itulah restaurant yg paling dekat n komfem xkene tipu, so we just ate there.

in Florence, kami byk masuk kuar kedai, sbb tgh saldi(sale) n tpt tggl kami mmg berada di kawasan shopping yg pemes do Florence… Lepas tu kami pergi berjalan2 dekat open market yg besar di San Lorenzo. bende yg paling pemes kat Florence adalah leather goods. kekasih dan william beli leather jacket. aku n dyana beli gloves made of lamb skin. sbnrnya x bniat nak beli pun, tp sbb tgh hujan n sejuk gler, n my gloves yg aku bawak dari nizhny dah tercicir sumwhere dekat malpensa airport, aku pun beli je la..

best shopping kat sini, tp yg paling xbest is, kedai2 dia tutup sangat awal… kol 7pm, suma kedai pun dah tutup… down gler.. so we balik hostel awal, n mandi2 suma. lalu berlakulah perkara yg paling lucu dan tak terjangka sekali sepanjang kami ddk kat italy ni: bila yana kluar toilet, alangkah tekejutnya dia bila tgk mirin di depan mata!!! rupa2nya mereka duduk kat bilik sebelah je… bole plak jd mcm tu wpun nama hostel lain.. turned out that the owner of the 2 hostels orang yg sama je… hahaha~ so that nite, we lepak sama2 la kat bilik je…

1 Februari 2009 – Leaning Tower of Pisa.

train ke Pisa dekat2 pukul9. pegi sama2 ngan geng2 ila… sampai2 kat pisa, hujan rintik2… xbest btol.. ada la orang2 hitam jual2 payung…jangan tertipu! dari train station ke The Field of Miracles tpt letaknya leaning tower tu jauh gak la jalan kaki… 20minit gak la lbey kurang…  sampai situ terus amik gambar bagai nak rak… lpun tu je la yg bole buat pun… nak masuk n naik the tower cost €15, xnak abis kan duit kat situ…

we met a few malaysians thr. mereka pergi bekerja sambil melancong.. kalo tak silap sorang pakcik tu kata diorg pergi italy coz nak beli machine kertas…

after that, kami pon beramai2 mbeli souvernir… banding ngan tpt lain, souvernir kat pisa agak murah la… lepas membeli-belah kami pun pulang… dekat florence kami makan tengah hari, then balik hostel. lepas rehat2 suma, we went out shopping, again. lol. bunyi mcm byk shopping je tp sbnrnya xde la mcm tu, sbenarnya kami byk ber-window shopping la drp real shopping..

Italy Travel Diary I

26 Januari 2009 – Malpensa Airport, Milan.

teksi sampai depan hostel pukul 3.30 pagi. janji kol 4 pagi. taxi driver tu bole tahan gak hensemnya.. hehe.. baik plak tu.. kami sampai domodedovo airport, moscow sblm pukul11 pagi. flight pegi berlin pukul5 ptg. sampai kat berlin pon 5 ptg waktu berlin.. 2 jam je lbey kurang… kastam die scan aku ngn metal detector giler2.. org lain xcm tu pon.. cess, negara nazi ni mmg sgt prejudis thdp perempuan bertudung. xsuke! sampai malpensa airport, milan kol 8 lbey kurang… jumpe la group ila sume. kitorg pon berkampung kat airport smp pagi esok..

27 Januari 2009 – Milan

pukul8 pagi naek bas pegi bandar. sampai bandar ktorg pon terus beli tiket train ke italy. then kat stesen metro Stazione Centrale, Milan, ktorg bpecah ngn group ila n cari hostel masing2. hostel kami letaknya dekat ngn station Porta Genovia. sbrnya it is a studio apartment managed by – in our strongest opinion la – a gay couple. mereka ni sangat particular n mereka xnak kami kotorkan bilik tu. so kami semua sgtlah berhati2 bila nak guna toilet or dapur. tapi studio tu sgt cantik, plus ada flat-screen TV lagi, so we really liked being there.

After we checked in, we went out pergi ke the most popular attraction of the city; the Duomo & Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. kene tipu ngan orang hitam yg kononnya bg free bracelet then they demand money after they tied it tightly at ur wrist. lost 2 euro. jahat.. then we makan2. except william, we didn’t went inside Duomo, but the Galleria was really nice we took so many crazy pix along the way. here, we can find very expensive brands. after we jalan2 kejap n masuk kluar some kedai termasuk the ferrari store & AC milan fan shop along the street, we went back to our studio; makan n mandi2 before we go out to the Duomo to see the night view pulak. actually, we also planned to go to the other city’s attraction, the Castello, but we never really make it, coz we were having so much fun acting all crazy at the Vittorio Emanuele Street, which like the Galleria, is also the home of branded stuffs; except that we can afford some of them. but the real fun is just walking n enjoy milan’s best gelato and took weird pix as if thr’s nobody’s thr except us. then bila dah penat n risau metro tutup, we went back to our hostel. before that, we jalan2 around the neighbourhood. it was said that that area has the liveliest nightlife, but we didnt really see it. suma kedai pon tutup awal je…kekasih belanja ktorg turkish kebab.. sangat2 sedap…

28 Januari 2009 – to Venice

Pukul 7.30 kitorg dah check out dari aramis studio. tp before that we make sure kami dah bersihkan bilik tu just like when we 1st came. takut nnt kalo kotor die charge kat credit card plak.. then kami terus pegi ke Stazione Centrale… train pukul 9.30… turned out we came really early.. n the station dun hv heating system.. soo very cold la.. we bought some breakfast n eat. (u can oso see the pix from the Milano, Italy album.) from milan to venice ambik masa lbey kurang 3jam. bila sampai Santa Lucia Train Station, Venice, kami terus beli tiket boat. here, boats (i forgot what it called) play role as metro. unique, kan? Then we terus naik boat pegi San Zaccharia. Hostel kitorg dekat2 situ. kami sepatutnya check in pukul 3pm tapi kami terus mencari lokasi hostel kami supaya nnt tak kalut.

then we go makan2 at a restaurant. sedap, tp not worth the price. we kena tipu sampai €10 sorang… dah dekat pukul3 we pegi hostel, Maria dah tunggu kami kat situ. turned out we actually got an apartment and everythg in it for 3nights. we really2 LOVED the apartment!! after we rehat jap,we jalan2 n pegi ke supermarket n beli barang2 there. we masak2 sendiri je..serik dah kena tipu.

29 Januari 2009 – All of Venice!

awal2 pagi kami jalan2 pegi Piazza San Marco (st. mark square). it’s actually sangat2 dekat ngan our apartment that we jalan2 there every night after that. ambik2 gambar n then masuk dalam san basillica, since its free. then we masuk the doge’s palace n the prison. it’s nice la. william overheard a chinese uncle talked to his son that we r students who want to study art… muka kami bukan muka medic la, tp muka artis..hahaha… but really, dalam that museum mmg byk lukisan2 yg sgt2 cantik.. after the museum, we masuk 2 other museums. then we jalan2 the streets around st. mark square. went to the royal garden. then we went to santa lucia train station again to buy train ticket to Florence. we went to COOP again, buy some foods to cook n eat, then pegi balik rumah.

At around 6pm we went to meet zaid n nana @ the hard rock cafe. we jalan2 with them and got lost lalu pergi kat rialto bridge. then kami pun berpisah balik ke hostel masing2.. we planned to go to Murano Island the next day together with them. kami pun balik apartment, masak2, makan2, rehat2, mandi2 dan tidur…

It’s 6pm now. The taxi leaving for moscow will pick us at 4am in the morning. 10 hours to go! The journey straight to Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport usually takes 8 hours. Maybe arrive there at noon. Our flight is at 4.30pm. Ok la kot…

Maybe I can online there n post something, but maybe not. See la 1st… If can’t, next post will be in another 2 weeks la..InsyaAllah.

My dream to travel the world is happening. Sangat bersyukur sebab berada di sini. So far baru pegi jalan kat Egypt. Tgk pyramids n berjejak rasul. Best giler. Dulu cita-cita aku nak jadi wartawan coz I wanna travel the world as frequent as possible. Tapi amik medic sape kate xleh jalan2? hehehe…

Okay all, regarding the title, I admit it, I’m a history freak. Zaman sekolah dulu kalo subjek sejarah akulah one of the very few top-scorers.. I know most ppl hate the subject, especially budak2 science stream, like most of u. But I just simply love it. Which is why I’m so excited about the trip. Like last year, when we decided to go to Egypt. Sangat seronok bila bole pijak n jalan2 atas batu pyramid.

OTK (malay for OMG, lol), I finally can see n touch n smell for myself most of the picture I’ve seen in my SPM History Textbook. Yeaaa…

Ok, I start to exaggerate things. Sila buat2 termuntah semua~  blueek…

Whatever la. That’s not the point. The point is, aku sedang excited. The sort of feeling when you know that one of your many many dreams will come true in a few days.

shittt… sudah kembang liur dah membayangkan kesedaapan laksa sarawak. sesungguhnya aku sangat ingin makan ini. rasanya sedap tak terkata… nyum nyumm… slurpp slurrppp~ heaven!!

i really wanna cook laksa sarawak here. i hv the perencah. i have the bihun, the belacan. the udang etc… wat i lack of is just tauhu dan taugey. the essential ingredients.

sapa2 jumpa makcik korea penjual tauhu dan taugey itu datang sini, sila call aku. sbb aku perlu bahan2 itu untuk menyempurnakan impian aku makan laksa sarawak di russia! kalu anda tolong belikan dan hantar kdp aku, lagi bgus. aku janji aku bg semangkuk!

Sungguh sedap!! cuti aritu aku makan sekali saja. mee ini sungguh femes di sarawak terutama di kalangan masyarakat cina. sbb mee ni mmg berasal dari china pun. org melayu mengubah suaikan resipinya dengan menggantikan babi kepada daging lembu, atau ayam… yg aku heran, knapa kat tpt lain selain sarawak aku tak pernah jumpa??

seriously, u’ll nvr taste anything as delicious as this me. very original, like no other!!!!!

Karipap Pedas

aku tak jumpa gambar. mari gunakan otak kiri anda untuk membayangkan karipap ini; karipap ini berinti sayuran yg di stir fry, paling common tauhu dan taugey. lepas digoreng, karipap ini disalutkan dengan sambal cili, pedas2 manis.

slalu jumpa kat bazar ramadhan di bulan puasa. thn dpn insyaAllah merasalah aku.

semua makanan2 ini bole jumpa kat sarawak je! sarawak’s the best!! the place like no other! Rindu!

Aku pon nak cakap pasal Malaysian Night (dan benda2 lain)

Aku cadangkan korang buat satu debate face to face kat 3rd hostel hall pasal “Malaysian Night – the Pros & the Cons in Muslim perspective.” Cos basicly MN is about  malam mendorong ke arah maksiat by one group of ppl, and also malam mengeratkan silaturrahim among malaysians by the other. For me, both points are true but which one makes more sense?

Make two groups, each represented by 4-5 panels, then discuss the issue in more mature way. Lengkapkan diri anda dengan isi-isi yg bernas yang disokong dengan ayat Quran atau hadis. Dan bincang secara baik2 tanpa unsur2 pergaduhan, pen’carut‘an serta sikap ‘aku saja yang betul‘. Invite all students; muslims n non-muslims. Jadi sapa2 yg berminat boleh datang dan berfikir dengan kematangan akal mereka sendiri. Moga2 memperoleh banyak faedah. You guys can think of the debate as cara menyampaikan dakwah juga kan? It’s far better than typing  a contraversial blog entry.

Sebab sebenarnya aku malas nak nak baca dan fikir pasal entri2 blog yg cakap pasal MN ni. But unfortunately aku tetap jugak bukak dan baca dan fikir pasal betul salah pandangan korang. Aku xleh nak kawal. Maka terjadilah pembaziran penggunaan otak aku dan kredit internet aku. Dan aku rasa ramai je yg mcm aku.

Kalau korang buat, aku pasti datang kalau aku free! and i’m positive a lot of ppl will come too.

Snow.

They come again. And they will stay, not going to melt away until March. Based on my experience, that is. But they’re late this year. There’s rumours saying that it’ll end earlier. Baguslah.

Masa aku 1st year, mereka datang di hujung bulan 10 dan cair di akhir bulan March. Aku sangat excited masa itu. Tapi sekarang aku sudah tidak ada hati. Aku sudah tidak suka. Sebab mereka duduk di atas tanah terlalu lama dan membuatkan orang slalu berharap dia akan cair tapi dia tidak cair2.

orang di negara 4 musim yg tidak extreme mcm russia mesti sangat suka snow dan selalu berharap snow akan turun. macam yg kita tgk dlm movie tu. kalau movie pasal chrismas je, ada la lagu ‘white christmas’ yg lirik dia cakap “i’m wishing for a white christmas”. Dan bila snow turun watak2 dalam movie itu akan keluar rumah sebab nak ‘bermandikan’ snow. dulu masa mula2 sampai sini, aku pun imagine nak buat mcmtu kalau snow turun. jakun betol.

Seriously, if u’re christian n wishing for a white chrismas, i suggest u celebrate christmas in nizhny. coz they’re always white in december, kadang2 snow kat tepi jalan tinggi dia kat paras pinggang. n for ur info, russian christmas is on 7th January. Jadi awak tak boleh celebrate bersama mereka.

pagi tadi aku bangun pagi dan tengok kat tingkap, luar sudah sangat putih. semalam pun snowing juga tp tidak mcm hari ni. Apa yg aku paling suka bila snow tebal is stepping on the virgin snow. i dunno if there’s such thing as virgin snow tapi aku refer term itu as fresh snow on the ground yg belum pernah dipijak orang.

so this morning, im enjoying myself berjalan2 di atas snow. fortunately, ppl who in-charge of removing the snow daripada jalan baru start kerja, so masih banyak snow yg boleh dipijak. aku sangat2 suka.

kenapa?

aku suka bila aku pijak, mula2 rasa lembut kemudian dia jadi makin keras sebab dia jadi semakin mampat. yang paling aku suka sekali adalah bunyi yg di’produce’kan bila dipijak. “kruk, krush, kruk, krush” bunyinya. hehe~

12 days to spend in italy. im so excited!!! still hv 2 months to go plus an exam paper waiting…. but canttttttt wait!!!

i was in love with italy when i was small, for some reasons i cant recall. cant believe i will be there in two months. hope everythg wil be jus fine. harap2 xda masalah n semua yg diplan dpt berjalan dgn baiknya. amin.

plan? dun have any  yet. but roughly we’re planning to travel from milan to venice, florence, pisa, n rome. thr’re 4 of us in the trip; me, dyana, kekasih n william.

oh..this is not couple trip, its a quadraple trip (haha.. i kinda invented the term). i thk its best to travel around with ur loved ones – the people we’re comfortable with the most. n im so happy im going thr with both my kekasih n my roomates. not forgetting my kekasih’s partner in crimes – william, that im also vry comfortable wif. im so looking foward to this!!

by the way, in case anyone r wondering, im soo not going to menghilangkan my kemanisan bulan madu by only spending time wif my kekasih thr. lol. the trip is nowhere near honeymoon. kalau honeymoon, we’re suppose to lock ourselves in 5 stars honeymoon suite enjoying each other presence n walk lazily hand by hand imagining we’re the only ones thr on the street or on the beach. that’s what i called honeymoon.

but we’re travelling around by bus or train, walking n running our legs off, n sleeping in hostel dorm. like the one we watch in discovery travellers channel.
